Using EM Cell Tower Plumes to Detect Precursory Earthquake Waves and Predict Quakes

Thursday, August 28th, 2008

Is it possible to use minor disruptions in the Cell Phone Tower Electro Magnetic Plumes to detect the precursory Earthquake waves so we can predict Earthquakes and save millions of people from harm or death?

Well one online think tank thinks it might be possible and has began discussing this very question and much of this topic would need to address the power not just the radio transmissions. But using the detection of disruptions in the EM plumes of Cell towers can do everything from finding a rogue stealth enemy fighter plane to detecting the potential eventuality of a near foreseeable Earthquake by reading the precursory emissions of very low frequencies and or very high frequencies, even light waves, etc from the Earth causing a raucous.

And to these points, sure the human scientists will wish to debate me on this, especially if they did not think of it first or are working on a different method and there are several indeed. Humans will eventually figure this out, but they need a little help really. There many sciences and tangents to research, which lead them all over the place often and then they discover things by chance and go back to the beginning of a faulty branch of science which was led astray by miss-appropriations of funding in the publish or perish world of cutthroat academia.

Silly humans, well at least they do have perseverance to press on, I will give them that and would add if it were not for human will, the species [modern humans] with that large of a brain and need for protein is not so viable for a multi-hundreds of millions years of evolution. I wish they would get off their asses and do something, talk about slow motion? Sheesh? Consider this in 2006.

Franchise Opportunities vsStarting from Scratch

Thursday, August 28th, 2008

I have often been asked what the best way to start a business is You can purchase a franchise or start your own business from the ground up. Both have benefits and downfalls.

There are many franchises available to buy.Franchises are everywhere. Franchises are typically founded on a tried and tested business model. When you buy a franchise, you can usually rest assured that every aspect of your new business has already been considered by someone. There are many different franchises available. Some will give you the business name, equipment and everything you need for start up, others only give you the basics and you still have to buy or lease a location, purchase equipment and the inventory you will need.

The negatives of buying a franchise however are that There is little room for creativity on your part, and of course the initial outlay. Visit the Key Mergers website for more information or if you would like to f you would like to buy a business or even to sell one.

Starting your own business from scratch however means that you can grow the business organically over time, you can limit your initial outlay and you can be as creative with the direction of your business as you like. Depending on how novel your new enterprise is, it is possible that your will have a steep testing curve and will have to make all of your own connections.

So, as you have probably gathered by now, the rational for choosing whether to buy a franchise or follow your own path are multi-dimensional Its a choice only you can make.

Making a Business Plan

Monday, August 25th, 2008

Making a business plan for the growth and development of the business is not an exercise solely for profit maximization. It is a mission statement and must incorporate the moral principles that are indispensable for sustaining a healthy public image of the firm.
The business development plan validates the purpose of the firm’s existence and also provides a moral frame of reference.

Making a business plan calls for awareness of social justice in the management practice and all business activities. After a succinct expression of the goals and procedures, the business plan should go ahead and adopt the policies and measures that are socially relevant. An important criterion for the success of a venture is its public image. This is often derived from the moral stand point of the enterprise and adoption of the ethical work practices. While making a business plan always take note of the desired public image and identify the key influences on strategic business decisions.

Many corporate bodies now choose to make their value statements very explicit. Their business plan is also a review of their ethical responsibilities, the concepts of leadership, and an analysis of the relationships within its various departments, with the executive management and the public. An increasing number of top performers connect the values with operations. While making a business plan they keenly balance the interests of the various stakeholder groups. In drawing the plan they strive for a responsible corporate leadership and aim to maximize profits in a transparent manner, clearly stating the corporate values, vision and strategies. Often the planning stage involves a conflict of values, especially when large private interests are at stake. An honest and fair stand by all those involved in making a business plan can help to resolve such disputes. After all, a company is as ethical as its people.

Highway Madness: Holiday Travel In New Jersey

Monday, August 25th, 2008

My family decided to brave the state’s highway system one recent Thanksgiving by traveling the New Jersey Turnpike south to my sister’s house off of Exit 7A. We started on Exit 18, knowing full well that we would hit some traffic before we arrived at her home some 70 miles later. Little did we know that our trip would be a bit of an adventure: not the type we would have liked to participated in either.

It was shortly after the noon hour when our car passed through the EZPass booth. We soon found ourselves traveling past Newark Liberty Airport and the “bucolic beauty” of industrial Linden, NJ. Choosing the car-only lanes seemed most sensible; with enough big rigs and buses on the road we didn’t want to subject our midsize car to the wake of a tandem trailer whooshing on by. Soon after making that decision we noticed brake lights more than one mile down the road and a helicopter hovering overhead. Uh oh, this did not look good.

As we arrived near the stopped traffic, police cars and emergency vehicles screamed by along the shoulder. Within ten minutes we were upon the scene: a green minivan had gone off the road and flipped on its side. We didn’t want to stare too closely but it did look like as if a small tree was sticking out of the windshield. We all said a prayer for the inhabitants and were thanking God that the rescue workers were already there doing what they do best. Moments later the traffic broke and we found ourselves once again heading south on the turnpike with not a little bit of thanks to God on our part that we were safe.

Holiday travel in New Jersey is fun. Okay, barely tolerable is more like it. If you have family more than 25 miles away, more than likely you will be on one of the major roadways at some point in your trip. It seemed, at times, that the entire New Jersey populace was going where we were going. I only hoped that my sister had a large enough turkey for everyone.

By Exit 8A, traffic had slowed again so we decided to exit the turnpike and follow Route 130 south. Not a great choice as Route 130 is a four lane roadway desperately needing more lanes and less traffic lights. Still, we felt that it beat the turnpike parking lot syndrome.

Near Cranbury we began to experience deja vu all over again as the saying goes. Stopped traffic. Sirens. Emergency vehicles spotted in front of us. The entire highway closed and traffic rerouted. Unlike the previous accident, we weren’t going to witness the rescue attempt. So, we said some more prayers for the victims, exited Route 130, and found ourselves following other cars through the town of Cranbury.

At this point, we were in unfamiliar territory, but I didn’t mind it. Cranbury is a lovely historic town that seems set in the mid-19th century. Nothing is new, everything is preserved. If you must be detoured somewhere in New Jersey, this town is the place to visit. Tastefully decked out in Christmas splendor, Cranbury looks nicer than Walgreen’s town of Perfect. It isn’t perfect, but it is real!

Somehow by following signs — there are places in New Jersey where signs will get you where you are going — we arrived at my sister’s home. We shared our stories of accident scenes witnessed, a detour taken, and a town admired. The highway madness of earlier that day soon faded away as we enjoyed the company of family and our Thanksgiving feast.

In the early evening we decided to take our tired children and head home. Traffic was much lighter and it moved quickly. Heading north on the New Jersey Turnpike, we decided to exit the road and travel north on the Garden State Parkway, which would bring us closer to our home. What had been a two hour trip down was looking like a 75 minute sprint home. Everything was clear and seemed uneventful. How soon that would change.

We noticed in the vicinity of the Union tolls that traffic was slowing down. At first, we chalked it up to the usual bobbing and weaving one must do in order to find the correct toll lane. However, as we made the approach to the tolls we looked over to the southbound lane and saw the all too familiar scenery of emergency vehicles. Not again.

This time the scene seemed even more horrific. Pulled off the road just south of the toll booths was a public transit bus. A police officer stood outside shining a light through the broken passenger windows. We could see all the windows were blown out by a fire that appeared to have consumed the bus. None of us wanted to imagine what happened; we simply grimaced and said yet another prayer to Almighty God for mercy.

The remainder of the trip home found our car engulfed in silence.
Looking back, I certainly can give thanks for not being involved in any one of the three accidents. We don’t know if any produced fatalities, but we do know that lives were changed that day. Whether people were speeding, cut off, falling asleep behind the wheel, or for whatever other reason the accident happened, we will never know. Quite frankly, it no longer mattered.

What we do know is this: even under the best conditions and in the best weather, road trips cannot be taken for granted. New Jersey roads are crowded, but serious accidents occur all over the country. That is why our family prays for traveling mercies before we take an extended trip and why we are quick to hold victims up in prayer when we come upon an accident scene.
Life is too precious to do anything less.

Radical Minds and Critical Thinkers

Wednesday, August 20th, 2008

Several months ago during a casual conversation, I was described by someone as being a radical.

When he first said it I didn’t know whether I should laugh or be offended. It never quite dawned on me until then that my standing up against spiritual homophobia, writing a gay spiritual book and producing and hosting a national black gay TV talk show would qualify me for radical status, but apparently in the minds of some it has.

Prior to this particular conversation, my mental concept of radicalism or the word radical represented outdated images of white women burning their bras in protest of anything male dominated or people chaining themselves to century old oak trees.

So now I asked myself, what exactly is a radical? Is it someone who marches down the street shouting, screaming, and decrying the injustices of the day? Or is it someone who commits outrageous acts of protest capturing his/her 3 minutes of fame on the evening news?

And how exactly does a radical mind think? Does it wake up every morning determined to rock the boat of society? Or does a radical mind intentionally try to kick in the front teeth of the status quo just for kicks?

In reality I believe that the face, the voice, and the causes of radicalism are as diverse as mankind itself. After giving much thought and research on the matter, I now have a much stronger understanding of what is and what is not a radical or radicalism.

Standing up for oneself does not necessarily make one a radical. Even standing up against an entire institution or society (i.e homophobic church or heterosexual majority) doesn’t always make one a radical either. The act of standing up is but one component of radicalism.

Screaming, shouting, and protesting the injustices of the day does not make one a radical either. Although America still vividly remembers the 1960’s Civil Rights and Vietnam War images of protests as clear examples of radicalism, I actually counter that marching down a city street, chaining oneself to a tree or a building isn’t exactly a definition of radicalism but more of a symbolic act of it.

After deeper analysis, I have come to the conclusion that what makes one a radical are the following components:

1. When a person mentally and emotionally rejects all that they know to be true about their existing reality, existing life and of the existing society which surround them and then begins to critically think and re-think everything that has been programmed into them (i.e homophobia, racism, sexism, etc); this becomes the first major step towards radicalism.

You see, radical minded people daily reject the status quo and express their lives accordingly. Even further, although they may respect authority, radical minded people still question its use and/or misuse. But most importantly, radical minded people are critical thinkers.

Radicals just don’t wake up one morning and decide to overthrow a government. It often takes many years of self-analysis, reflection, prayer, meditation, dialogue, and research before the ultimate stand against the status quo actually occurs. Hence, critical analysis is a major key to becoming a radical.

2. Radical minded people seek personal freedoms, whether it’s the freedom to own property, to vote, marry, run for public office, or to access public services. The act of being denied, restrained, impaired, or hindered is the octane fuel which drives the pursuit of freedom. Hence, radicalism is driven by the inherent desire to be free.

Examples of past American concepts of radicalism include the abolitionist movement, feminism struggle, civil rights era, and now the gay rights fight for equal protection as well as the right and the freedom to marry.

Just as slaves did not have any personal freedoms, women did not have the right to vote, and several generations later blacks were still fighting for full equality under the U.S. constitution; the theme which runs similar in all of these instances is “freedom.” The desire to be free. Further, radical minded people not only seek their own personal freedoms, they also seek freedoms for others even at the cost of retaliation against themselves.

3. Contrary to popular belief, radical minded people are actually very patient people. Social movements can take many years to build and to execute. A true radical understands that revolutions and evolutions within society do not occur overnight or within the next calendar year.

Hence, radical minded people are strategic thinkers as well as critical thinkers. They strategically and critically assess the social changes which must take place and then move forward in multiple ways, methods, and fashions to achieve it.

4. Finally, radical minded people understand that it really isn’t about them per se, but instead they recognize and understand that its about allowing a greater power, a greater plan, and a greater pathway to flow though their existence into a glorious fruition.

Radical minded people accept that they might not actually reap the total rewards and benefits of their efforts, but instead understand that each and every generation which follows them will. Thus radicals are the social architects which build, construct, and solidify a new world order for the entirety of mankind.

So when I reflect upon this interpretation of what it means to be a radical and in my case, a gay radical, then I proudly sign up for the label and all that goes with it. To be the change that is needed, to be catalyst which ignites, and to be the finger of the hand of God which moves its divine will throughout the course of time is more than enough payoff for me. So I’m hanging on for the ride!

Catalytic Converter Fires: A Real Danger!

Sunday, August 17th, 2008

Driving down the street with the setting sun at his back, Bob Cummins navigated around parked cars and fire hydrants to find the right place to park. It just wasn’t something that was easy to do - finding a vacant spot - on his narrow, winding suburban street. Wedged between two business districts, Bob’s block was frequently filled with cars from outside the area, taking away from the already limited on street parking. While he knew he could simply pull into his own driveway and park, he also knew that he’d have to move vehicles around later when his wife, Susan, returned home with the kids.

Glancing out of his right mirror he noticed it and slammed on his breaks. A car pulled out of a spot down the street behind him and its driver pulled into a nearby driveway and exited the car. Bob slowly backed up halfway down the block and slipped his Volvo XC90 into the empty spot. A little tight, he thought, as he left just enough room between the driveway in front of him and the car behind him for his SUV. Within moments Bob left the comfort of his Volvo and stepped inside the foyer of his center hall colonial.

Less than ten minutes later the sounds of sirens filled the neighborhood. At first, Bob did not give it much thought, but as the sirens drew closer he decided to step outside to investigate. To his utter horror, a car just two houses down from his home was engulfed in flames. Within moments his worst fears were confirmed: his new Volvo XC90 was on fire! Minutes later the fire was extinguished but Bob’s SUV was destroyed.

An important part of your vehicle’s emission system is the catalytic converter. It is tasked with reducing harmful emissions that pollute the atmosphere and it has been a part of nearly every passenger vehicle built since the mid 1970s. Unfortunately, the catalytic converter can also run very hot and, at the same time, spark ignition of anything that it comes into contact with. In Bob’s case, it was his 2005 Volvo that was parked directly over a small leaf pile that started the fire that destroyed his XC90.

When parking your vehicle, take care to make sure that no debris is on the ground directly underneath your car. Even a small pile of dried out leaves can be just enough fodder for a fire. In the case of a high profile vehicle, such as the XC90, the clearance between the bottom of your vehicle and the ground is higher, meaning you many not notice anything underneath when backing into an empty parking space.

Hundreds of vehicle fires every year are attributed to motorists who park their cars over leaves; unfortunately this practice almost always results in the total loss of the vehicle due to excessive fire damage.

Play it safe when parking your car, truck, van, or SUV by examining the area underneath it to make sure that is completely free of all debris.

Possible Leukemia Causes and Risk Factors

Saturday, August 16th, 2008

Leukemia is a disease that is considered to be life-threatening. It requires prompt intervention when discovered, in order to maximize the chances of recovering through specific treatment and therapy. Leukemia is basically a type of cancer of the bone marrow and blood, caused by inappropriate cellular activity. The disease can be of different forms, according to the types of blood cells that cause its development. Also, if leukemia is developing rapidly, it is called acute leukemia, while if the disease is developing slowly, it is referred to as chronic leukemia.

The direct leukemia causes are still unknown. In present, medical science isn’t able to establish the specific leukemia causes. However, a strong connection between certain genetic factors and the development of the disease has been revealed. Leukemia occurs on the background of genetic failure that causes the excessive production of incomplete, partially matured blood cells. Also, leukemia has a hereditary character, allowing the transmission of genetic predispositions to disease from one generation to another. Although many factors are known to contribute to the development of leukemia, they alone can’t be considered leukemia causes.

Despite the fact that statistics indicate a higher incidence of the disease in people that are exposed to some environmental factors of risk, leukemia doesn’t seem to be caused by neither of them in particular. Among the environmental factors that are thought to be leukemia causes, here are some of the most plausible ones:

- Smoking - smoking is thought to increase the chances of being affected by leukemia. Although statistics show that around 20 percent of acute leukemia cases are related to smoking, leukemia also occurs to people that don’t smoke and therefore it can’t be considered a leukemia cause on itself;

- Prolonged exposure to radiation - Radiation is considered to facilitate the development of leukemia. It is believed that exposure to X-rays can be a leukemia cause;

- Prolonged exposure to benzene - statistics reveal that this is a major factor of risk in some forms of leukemia, such as myelogenous leukemia;

- Chemotherapy and cancer treatment - previous cancer treatments and chemotherapy are known to facilitate the occurrence and development of leukemia and can be considered plausible leukemia causes. Within a few years from the completion of chemotherapy and other treatments for certain forms of cancer, most people can develop leukemia.

Among the genetic factors that are considered to be leukemia causes, the following ones are thought to be the most important:

- chromosome abnormalities - some rare genetic syndromes are known to contribute to leukemia causes;

- Immune system genetic problems - a weak immune system is very likely to facilitate the occurrence of leukemia and therefore can be considered a leukemia cause;

- Down syndrome - children born with this syndrome have a very high risk of developing acute leukemia.

The list of possible leukemia causes can continue further, but these are the most common factors that are considered to be interrelated with leukemia. While some of them can be prevented, others reside within the genes and in present can’t be corrected. In future, however, thanks to medical advance, we will probably be able to prevent leukemia and other forms of cancer.
